Ever woke up on a cold morning and not feel like getting out of bed? Then, before your are able to gulp down your caffeine, you realised that you have 218 new emails sitting in your in box. The drudgery of life can overwhelm us sometimes. So, how do we stay motivated?
Well, this morning, I tried something a bit different. Rather than trying to motivate myself, I set out motivating 5 other persons. These were mostly participants from my classes previously. I just decided to randomly catch up with them, asked them how they were, motivated them along and wished them a great day.
Guess what. By the time I finished with the 5th set of whatsapp messages, I myself was raring to get started on my day. Somehow, the day already seemed brighter. The cold morning air was warming up. My soy latte tasted better. Couple of minutes later, a whatsapp reply came in with a smiley face from a delighted friend I just cheered up! In fact, positive messages kept coming in throughout the day! Share a little happiness today and it will just bomerang back to you. What started out as a slow day turned out to be awesome.
So, starting today, I set myself another goal in life. Motivate someone else in my life each and every day.
And I know, it will be a better day for me.
